John Montero is a passionate driving instructor based in Burnaby, BC. Originally from the Philippines, John is fluent in English and Tagalog, making him an ideal instructor for Filipino-Canadian families and newcomers from the Philippines.
Since launching JM Driving School in early 2024, John has built a strong reputation for helping students pass their road test on the first try. His patient, calm teaching style builds genuine confidence — not just test-passing techniques.
John is experienced with automatic transmission, manual (standard), and trucks, so no matter what you'll be driving for your test, he can prepare you.
His approach is simple: come to you, give you the tools to drive safely for life, and celebrate when you pass. Many of his students have passed on their first attempt — and their testimonials and photos are available on his Facebook page.

Note: If picking up your license before the lesson, travel time is deducted from lesson time. For example, a 1.5-hour lesson with a 20-minute license pickup leaves approximately 1 hour 10 minutes of driving time.
